Conference

Posted by adamswife on April 7, 2008

I’ve spent the weekend listening to LDS General Conference. I have been inspired to take charge of all aspects of my life. I have always felt that being in tune spiritually is the first step in taking charge. When I get my spiritual life in tune everything else seems to just fall into place – exercise, diet, family relations, and my moods. I do not suffer from depression when I tend to my spirituality. So, today is a new beginning. Let’s see how well I do, and how long I can hang on to the inspiration and keep going. How far will this take me?

Need Advice

Posted by adamswife on April 1, 2008

aching-back.jpgI’m in the market for a new mattress. I am entertaining thoughts about the sleep number bed, a gel mattress, a Tempurpedic, or maybe a water bed. Anybody have any of these? Information about them? Opinions? I’m really tired of waking up with a back ache that cripples me for 30 minutes to an hour every morning. Please, if you have any knowledge on the subject let me know.

A Short Hello

Posted by adamswife on April 1, 2008

I had an appointment with my cardiologist yesterday. My heart seems to be ok, but the never-ending cold/flu is still a major problem. She put me back on antibiotics and told me to REST. (Like I could do anything else?) lol I feel a nap coming on – another one.purple-hat.jpg

In the Pink

Posted by adamswife on March 28, 2008

I received this request in an e-mail.  I thought it worth sharing.

A favor to ask, it only takes 30 seconds….

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today ! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on ‘donating a mammogram’ for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn’t cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here’s the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

Lurking – Lurking

Posted by adamswife on March 25, 2008

I’ve been lurking a lot lately.  It seems just too much trouble to actually leave a reply.  My brain isn’t working well – can’t think of anything coherent to say.  Also, my fingers trip over the keyboard and make strange words.  However, I think there is sunshine on the horizon.  I felt better for an hour or so when I first got up this morning! ;D

I seem to recall reading a post last week where I was tagged for a meme.  I can’t remember who tagged me.  If it was you, please leave me a note telling me where to find the tag.  Thank you!

It’s the ‘Flu, Charlie Brown

Posted by adamswife on March 20, 2008

I found some fun Easter graphics online yesterday.  So – I’m going to inflict them on you for the rest of the week.  They’re just too cute not to share.  I am feeling a bit better today – maybe I even want to live. 😀

Under The Weather

Not my face, but definitely how I’ve been feeling.  The blood pressure issues are finally being resolved, and now I have the ‘flu.  Went to the Dr yesterday and got some antibiotics and something for the cough.  Now I’m going back to bed.  Hope you don’t get sick reading this.  My sister vows I gave it to her over the phone. 😉

Sorry!

This is pretty much the way I’ve been sleeping the last couple nights.  I apologize to all my friends and regular readers who came looking for a new post today.  I’m just too tired to be witty or philosophical.  Would you believe Boniva can cause very bad reflux that can wake you out of a sound sleep?  It can.  I’ve learned something new today.

All About Eve

Posted by adamswife on March 3, 2008

sun-in-trees.jpg
I took this shot of the sky with sun in the trees while walking beside the river last week.  It was a lovely, sunshiny day.
I didn’t mean to worry my friends yesterday.  I have mentioned previously that I have some health problems that I deal with – mostly of the kind that cause unpleasantness in the digestive system.  Lots of pain, and nausea, and vomiting, and diarrhea.  I don’t like dwelling on these problems – I think it’s boring and disgusting to go on and on about it.  I had a bit of a flare-up yesterday accompanied by some pain and nausea.  I keep demerol on hand for these occasional flare-ups.  Usually I don’t need more than one dose to get things under control.  Yesterday I ended up taking three doses.  This causes me to sleep for about 36 hours.  Thus no post yesterday.  Today I am feeling a lot better, although a bit fragile.  The pain is gone, and I’m just wearing out the demerol now.  I gotta tell you the extra sleep is appreciated.  I feel very rested today, and I’m still dropping off to sleep every little while.
If I just tell you I’m having a bad day and don’t elaborate on that will you understand?  I feel a bit like Mr Hyde moves in to visit me on these days.  You know, a sadistic monster who leaves me feeling like I have been attacked.  Maybe that should be my code for my friends when I am dealing with this:  Mr Hyde has come to visit.  Then you’ll know that it’s just the same old thing and I’ll be fine again in a day or two.
The demerol is a two-edged sword.  I love that it takes the pain away, and I love that I get a feeling of “Who cares?”  At the same time I hate feeling like I’ve left my body and I’m floating away – and then there’s the staggering.  I can’t seem to walk straight when I take it.  Thinking straight is also a problem. lol
