Perrine Bridge

Wordless Wednesday #9

I frequently post pictures of the Snake River as it runs through Idaho Falls where I live. This picture is of the Snake River near Twin Falls where I grew up. The bridge is named for I.B. Perrine, an early settler in the area. This is where my heart truly resides.

  1. Great shot. I have my #9 up too. Happy WW!

**Thanks. I guess I should have explained that this isn’t one of my pictures – it’s one I picked up online. It is a great shot. I wish I knew who to give proper credit to. πŸ™‚

I can see why your heart would be in that area. It is beautiful.

Wow, that is a beautiful picture.

That looks like a very pretty, wild area. Is it still?

**No. The bridge connects Twin Falls and Jerome. On the canyon’s south rim there is a mall, a lot of restaurants, and hotels, etc. Unfortunately they are starting to allow development in some areas in the canyon. Stupid people are gonna get flooded.

That looks like a beautiful place, one I’d love to visit!

    Happy WW πŸ™‚

Why is it called “Snake” River?

**Because it winds back and forth and looks like a snake’s trail.

  9. How do you tell a snake’s tail from the rest of it? πŸ˜€

**Not tail, tRail. It’s the marks a snake leaves when it moves along the ground. ;D A lot of the snakes around Idaho have rattles on the tails. They all have fangs on the other end.

  10. Cool bridge over the Snake River here ;–)
Today for Wordless Wednesday I’ve shared a metal sculpture from my trip to Taos, New Mexico last summer.
    Hugs and blessings,

What a great picture. I am amazed at the architecture of that bridge. Happy WW.

  14. WOW!! What a beautiful picture and a big bridge!

  15. What an amazing bridge! I can only imagine how breathtaking the views are in person πŸ™‚

**Unfortunately I have traveled across that bridge so many times that I forget to stop and enjoy the view – I forget there is a view to enjoy. I will be going to Twin Falls in April. I will make it a priority to visit the bridge, to look up the river and down, and to take some pictures of that magnificent view. Then, of course, I’ll share them with all my blogging friends. πŸ˜‰
